Method

Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced). Line a tray with baking paper.

To make the meatballs, combine all of the ingredients in a bowl. Roll tablespoonfuls of the mixture into balls. You should get 18 balls.

Heat the oil in a large heavy-based frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the meatballs and cook, turning occasionally for 4 – 5 minutes or until just cooked through.

Spread the cut sides of the Toscano Mini Hot Dog Brioche Buns with butter. Add a spoonful of sauce to each bun, top with 3 meatballs, a little more sauce and cheese.

Place the filled buns on the prepared tray and bake for 3 – 5 minutes until cheese melts. Remove and top with fresh basil. Serve immediately.
